For those who don’t believe that
one person can make a difference, let’s remember Rosa Parks today, on what would have been her 100th birthday.
It was 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama. Rosa
Parks refused to give up her seat for a white passenger and it spurred a
city-wide bus boycott. This boycott helped launch a nationwide effort to
end segregation of public facilities.
One brave stance, by one brave
woman, turned out to be an enormous turning point in the civil rights movement.
“Each person must live their life
as a model for others.” ~Rosa
Parks
